Dan Tucholsky’s Leadership
I am proud to be a sixth-generation Oregonian, an active leader and resident of McMinnville, where the vibrant community life deeply resonates with me and my family. By day, I'm the Director of Engineering at A-Dec, a global company where I navigate challenges with precision. As the sun sets, I wear multiple hats where I not only serve my time as Vice Chair on the City Planning Commission but also volunteer as a Reserve Law Enforcement Officer for the McMinnville Police Department. Volunteering my time and contributing to the success and security of our community represents a deeply personal commitment to protect and serve the place I proudly call home.
I have actively contributed to our town's development, currently serving as the Vice-Chair on the McMinnville Planning Commission. In this role, I advocate for land use initiatives that prioritize and enhance the well-being of our community. I'm driven to make an even greater impact by running for a City Council position in the upcoming 2024 election. My singular aim is to listen and advocate, working together to create a better and stronger community.
With more than 19 years of experience in the medical industry and degrees in Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University, I currently hold the position of Director of Engineering at A-dec, the world’s leading manufacturer of dental equipment and furniture. In this global role, I work to keep local jobs within Yamhill County, providing 1,200 families the opportunity to live and work locally. At the core of my professional success is leading a dynamic cross-functional engineering team, where we design, develop, and launch cutting-edge products. Our success is built upon a foundation of values that emphasize accountability, teamwork, and innovation. I actively cultivate these principles by providing mentorship and training to our engineering staff that creates a culture for success.
While my role at A-dec revolves around designing products that enhance the health and well-being of people worldwide, my commitment to this cause extends significantly into the realm of public safety in McMinnville. In 2017, I was sworn in as a Reserve Law Enforcement Officer for the McMinnville Police Department after graduating from the Mid Valley Reserve Training Academy (MVRT). I average nearly 40 volunteer hours per month on patrol, and I dedicate approximately 75 hours annually to advance my training. This hands-on experience, along with my steadfast commitment to public safety, uniquely positions me to address and prioritize the security concerns of our community. I want McMinnville to not only be a safe town for my family, but also for you and our entire community.
For the past 15 years, I have given back to my alma mater at Oregon State University, serving as an Industry Intern Coordinator and as a speaker for their Young Entrepreneurship Business Week (YEBW). This opportunity has allowed me to contribute to the educational experiences of students, not only for the present but also for generations to come.
With a steadfast dedication to public safety, a proven governance track record, strong leadership and a vision for a thriving future, I’m ready to lead. I value transparency, innovation, and bring a driven commitment to ensuring your voices and ideas are heard on the City Council. Fueled by a profound sense of responsibility and a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact on our community, I am eager to serve you and ask for your support and vote!
